Glass "Pitcher" with Vivid Iridescence. Persia, Iran c. 8th to 12th century AD. Height: 4-1/4". Most glass pitchers from this very early period have not survived intact. This beautiful antique glass pitcher was recomposed (may have been from pieces of several glass pitchers from that era). The pitcher exquisite in colors of aqua, azure, and deep emerald green is crafted in very thick glass with areas of exceptionally fine and intense iridescence. An unique and beautiful piece of antiquity.
